Milk free Special Dark Bark
8 bars (8-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S Unsweetened Baking Chocolate, broken
1/4 cup plus 1 teaspoon solid vegetable shortening (Not butter,
margarine, oil or vegetable oil spread)
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
Place baking chocolate and shortening in medium microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or just until mixture is melted
and smooth when stirred.
Gradually stir in powdered sugar; if mixture becomes too thick, knead in
remainder of powdered sugar with clean hands.
Cover tightly; refrigerate until firm.
Break into pieces.
Store, well covered, in refrigerator.
*special note: you can use coconut butter in place of the vegetable shortening, if you have soy/corn issues
